Lincoln Tango – we dance Argentine Tango (not ballroom)

We meet every Thursday evening from 7.30 – 9.30pm.

We have a lesson for beginners and improvers from 7.30 to 8.00 and then hold a practical session – an opportunity for everyone to practice their technique.

£5 per person which covers refreshments.

Every month, we cancel the Thursday class and invite a professional Argentine Tango teacher to take a workshop on the Friday evening – this is usually John Cabrera, a teacher living in Chesterfield,  but it may be someone else.

You do not need to come with a partner – it is customary to dance with different partners throughout the evening although some people choose not to do it.

Lincoln Dance Company offer children’s dance classes at Branston Village Hall.

We are a small and welcoming school that offer ballet, modern and tap dance at our two locations – Branston and Bracebridge Heath. We offer our students the opportunity to take examinations in ISTD tap and modem theatre faculties as well as RAD ballet examinations. Our students also have the opportunity to take part in our annual showcase and displays such as the Bracebridge Heath village festival. For more information please visit our website

Branston Short Mat Bowls Club

Started in 1992 by Jack Brammer and his son David, Branston Short Mats Bowls Club is a thriving organisation that welcomes new members.  We are very friendly and although we take our bowling seriously, we also use our sessions as an opportunity to socialise and ‘have a laugh’.  We also arrange other activities outside the usual club sessions. For instance, ten pin bowling; inter club tournaments; short mat versus green bowls tournaments.

If you want to have some fun while trying a new sport, why not come along and give us a try – the first two sessions are free. If you don’t have any bowls, don’t worry as we have plenty to spare for your use and our members are only too pleased to show you how to play.  We meet on Thursday afternoons between 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. and Friday evenings between 7.00p.m. to 9.00 p.m. Annual subscriptions are £15 and each session costs £1.50.
